What is CUT.io

CUT.io is a cute new URL shortening service. You've probably used some sort of a URL shortener before. If, however, this is the first time that you've decided to use a URL shortener, then it makes sense to briefly explain that CUT.io allows you to shorten, share, and track web site addresses (so called URLs).

Why Shorten URLs?

Some people hate URL shorteners and shortened URLs. Some love them. Some just use them. Use them, because shortened URLs can be from merely comfortable to absolutely necessary. Just a quick example. Suppose you want to send a URL in an SMS. As you know SMS length is limited. So what do you do if the URL is longer than the maximum length allowed by SMS? What about posting URLs on Twitter? So, one way or another, URL shorteners are good. Though, as every good thing in life, URL shorteners have drawbacks as well.

Who is CUT.io

CUT.io was developed by George Sazandrishvili. I'm a software architect working at P2PSYS Development Studio. However CUT.io is my hobby project and is not affiliated with my company. CUT.io is probably one of the newest URL shorteners out there and I have a lot of nice and interesting functions in my To-Do list, which I will be implementing gradually. So, stay tuned and use CUT.io frequently to cut those long URLs :)
